Under 19’s Preliminary Final Old Brighton v Williamstown, 11th September

Old Brighton 12 13 85 defeated Williamstown 8 6 54

The u/19s played Williamstown last Sunday at Elsternwick Park in a game that would decide which team meet Old Xavs in the Grand Final.Williamstown are a team that is well drilled and love a scrap so we knew we were in for a battle. And so it turned out, a 2 point lead at the first break, 5 points at the main break and 11 points at quarter time. The lads have built strong self-belief in the back half of the season and we believe we have an edge in fitness against any team and so it proved as we ran out winners by 31 points against gallant opposition and Williamstown should be congratulated on a great season. The GF promises to be an absolute cracker of a game, Xavs only lost one game during the home and away season ( to us in round 17 ) so we will need to be at our best to be successful. With the support of the Tonner community, we are quietly confident of victory.
