Round 12: OBGFC U19s v Old Melburnians

The u/19s hosted cellar dweller Old Melburnians last Saturday. After a sluggish first half where we led by just 2 goals the team improved their intensity and kicking skills to record a 61 point victory.

Notable performances included Winston McGowan whose handball skills were on display in a best on ground performance, Sam Flockhart who controlled the ruck contests and Ben Fisher who led by example in our second half revival.

The team has benefited in recent weeks with Cam Hathway playing further up the ground and providing great connection going into our forward half and being a strong marking target, 4 goals to his name bearing testament to that.

Jordie Gray went into the midfield on Saturday and his great attack at the footy has helped minimise the loss of Tom Burnell who excelled in the firsts against Xavier on Saturday.

We currently sit one game inside the four so we eagerly await the next game at Uni Blues this Saturday

Final Scores Old Brighton 13 15 93 defeated Old Melburnians 5 2 32
