Weekend Results - Round 6, 2021
4/6 for the Tonners in Round 6, 2021.
The Seniors found a way to win ugly against a gallant Trinity out at Bulleen. Seb Williams snagged a team-high four goals, following on from the bag of 11 he kicked last time he travelled to the Daley Oval. The Italian Stallion, Andy Doyle was solid on debut, as was Oscar Lewis who lined up along side his brother Will for the first time.
In the early game, The Roscoe’s had a comfortable win as Finn Campigli made a successful return from injury and Joel Crocker kicked four goals on his return from Frankston VFL.
The Tonner Women suffered their first loss of the season against arch rivals Old Scotch, who remain undefeated this year.
The Under 19’s went down by four points to Caulfield in a nail-biter. The boys were up by three goals at 3QT but couldn’t hold off Caulfield who kicked home with the breeze.
The Thirds had their first win of the season, and what a win it was! Trailing late in the last quarter, it was Griff Adams who put on the superman cape, taking a great mark and slotting a difficult set shot to level the scores. The Showmen, led by captain Tommy Kenny, then surged the ball forward and managed to scramble through the solitary behind required to secure victory. A great reward for all their efforts so far this year, in particular playing coach Liam Farrell, who was beside himself with jubilation when the siren sounded.
After entering the competition in Round 5, the Fourths continued their dramatic surge up the Thirds Division 4 ladder with a huge win over Therry Penola. Inspirational leader Charlie Kenny remains undefeated as captain.
