AFLW Draft some of our Tonnors!
Some of our very own have been drafted in AFLW 2022 last week and we couldn’t be more thrilled to congratulate them! I am pleased to announce that the following women have shown skills and determination to be drafted.
Bridie Hipwell pick 10 to Hawthorn
Athletic player who can play forward or back. Consistently wins the ball in the air or on the ground. A difficult match up for any opposition player due to her versatility.
Keely Coyne pick 29 to Bulldogs
Coyne, 17, was one of the Dragons most influential players this season, after impressing in a new role inside.
She averaged 20 disposals, five tackles and two inside 50s from her NAB League Girls’ campaign.
Coyne has clean hands, solid composure and makes good decisions under pressure.
Her versatility is also a highlight, having previously played as a forward before taking on more of a wing role for Vic Metro at this year’s AFLW U18 National Championships.
Sofia Hurley pick 5 to Swans
A busy midfielder, Hurley is a well-rounded player who regularly tops disposal, clearance and/or tackle counts due to her deadly combination of speed and endurance. Won Sandringham’s under-19 best and fairest last year at 17.
Congratulations from everyone here at OBGFC!
