Bayside City Council Elections 2020

About The Elections

The upcoming Council elections are your opportunity to play a part in determining the future of Bayside.

They will be held during October 2020 via postal vote. Voting papers will be mailed directly to all enrolled voters between 6-8 October.

The Victorian Government has introduced new single member wards for the 2020 Bayside City Council elections, replacing the three wards (North, Central and South).
From October 2020, Bayside has been divided into seven wards, with one councillor to be elected to represent each ward. The seven wards are:

  1. Dendy Ward
  2. Bleazby Ward
  3. Castlefield Ward
  4. Boyd Ward
  5. Ivison Ward
  6. Ebden Ward
  7. Beckett Ward

#KnowYourCandidate

The Old Brighton Grammarians Football Club is a non-political, volunteer, community sporting organization. However, the upcoming Bayside City Council Elections shape as being vitally important for our future. We have therefore extended an offer to all candidates, asking them to make a brief video statement to the Old Brighton Community.

With the incredibly successful introduction of our OBGFC Women’s Team in 2017, our total number of teams has increased from three to six.
Brighton Cricket Club & Brighton Beach Junior Football Club, our co-tenants of Brighton Beach Oval, have experienced similar levels of growth over the past 20 years.

Therefore the upgrading of sporting ovals, facilities & pavilions in Bayside, in particular Brighton Beach Oval, has never been of higher importance.
