The Old Brighton Women’s team secured a place in the Division 1 Grand Final after a convincing win over Beaumaris in the preliminary final on Sunday. Following significant rain over the preceding days before the match, the ground conditions were very wet and slippery making the game tough for players on both teams. It was the Tonners who took advantage of early scoring opportunities and following some determined efforts and fantastic teamwork, we jumped to a 24 point lead by quarter time. Our dominance continued in the second quarter when we went to the long break with a 36-point lead. Determined not to let up on our relentless pressure, we held Beaumaris scoreless after half time and finished the game with a 45-point winning margin. A terrific team effort.

This week we face the undefeated Old Scotch team in the Grand Final, Sunday morning 9.00am at the Mentone Playing Fields, Oval 1.
