The Women’s team faced the minor premiers and well-deserved pregame favourites Old Scotch in the second semi-final at the Camberwell Sports Oval on Saturday. Old Scotch hadn’t lost a game during the home and away season, so the Tonners were focussed on putting in a strong performance. In a tight first half both teams were desperate to gain an advantage and the Tonners went to the main break with a slender 3-point deficit. We had a few chances to gain the lead in the 3rd quarter but couldn’t convert these opportunities and Old Scotch headed into the last quarter with an 8-point lead. Despite our desperate efforts and with having plenty of the ball in the last quarter we eventually fell 22 points short of causing an upset.

This week we face Beaumaris in a cutthroat preliminary final on Sunday. Exact details of the game are unknown at this stage. We will keep you informed later in the week.
