With the sun shining bright on the oval down by the beach it made for a great game of footy against Fitzroy.

We had a point to prove against the team who were one spot behind us on the ladder. As they smashed us last time we played them we were out for blood and its exactly what we got.

Having numbers taken to fill spots in the twos we went into the game short of numbers and also playing some fellas who haven’t touched a footy all year. Luckily however these boys could play footy and provided the under 23s which some much needed footy brains. Faz and Jonesy both came out firing and were great inclusions into the team.

Kicking with the wind in the first quarter the boys came out hard and strong and put pressure on Fitzroy by kicking 6 in the first quarter, 5 of those coming from old head Jack Rutter.

Game was a fierce game all day and the boys did everything they can to hold onto that 3rd straight win in a row. Against the wind in the last quarter we managed to just hold onto our 3 quarter lead winning by a few goals.  We should have won the game by a lot more seeing as we kicked 1 goal 10 behinds in the 3rd quarter

Next week is again a must win week for the team, coming up against Old Scotch at Camberwell, from what was said and happened last time we faced each other this is going to be a fierce game. Another must win for the boys to sit us half a game out of the top 4.
