Top of the table clash and the grand final rematch had the boys up and about and after the first 5 minutes, I couldn’t have been happier. All the moves worked and we looked the goods. Then the next 20 weren’t great as they kicked 7 unanswered goals before we kicked one very late in the quarter.

To the boys’ credit we could’ve folded over but we responded and started to move the ball really well, more importantly we stared to really defend well and put lots of pressure on them. This made it harder for them to move the football and we played the game on our terms for 3 quarters. Only allowing them to score 3 goals for the rest of the game.

The pleasing thing about today’s game was not the individual efforts of players we expect to play well, however the growth of other players and the footy they are starting to play. Also, we are playing as a group and team of 24, so when it’s your turn we are taking it.

If Noske keeps kicking freakish goals, then we are all in for long weeks ahead hearing about them at training.

Thanks to Max Burt for helping out too running the boundary, our two ACL injuries Anthony Evans/Jonty Thomas for running water and Hickey/Bennett who turned up after coaching to get amongst it too.

Well done to Ben Branson who backed up in the Ressies kicking 2 goals and playing well, although that miss from the goal square will be still haunting him.

Good luck to Hamish Dick and Finn Campigli who hopefully make the Vic team this week.
