Beautiful dewy morning at BBO with the boys turning up all happy and ready to go. Noske thought it was still too cold for footy but gave in and got ready. After playing safe footy and not being that balanced around the ball last week, training all week was about how we wanted to move the ball and take it on. To their credit they did that with some really nice transition and ball movement. It backfired at times, but the reward outweighed the mistakes, our midfield on top with our forwards being really dangerous and locking the ball in. Our backs repelled all day and won important contests and generally started our attacks with overlap run. Ben Branson was dominant up forward allowing Jake to push further up the ground, Ben Pryor kept kicking points but was always involved. Collins and Ethan played their best games doing a lot of grunt work and winning their own footy. Noske once he warmed up was good up forward always bringing the ball to ground and helping out the smalls. Ned Bellmaine came into the team for his first game this year, he gave us an important chop out in the ruck and kicked a goal. Dom continues to play good footy, nagging me at every opportunity to move off half back to play midfield. Once I finally made the move he left me alone. I could write about every player because everyone played good footy and we were the dominant team on the day. They had only scored 8 points until 15 minutes left in the game then we allowed them to kick 4 goals 5. We have the grand final rematch coming up this week at home which will be huge as we are also both 1-2 on the ladder this season.
