Our round 3 match was played in welcoming and ideal conditions at Ivanhoe. We lost last week’s best player Layne Davies pre match to illness however we were keen to continue our good form. We got off to a good start having most of the play in the first have of the first quarter but couldn’t covert our strong efforts. Ivanhoe applied strong pressure in the last 10 minutes and were able to score late in the quarter and again early in the second quarter to take a two-goal lead into the long break. We felt as if we had most of the play in the second half be could only score our solitary goal in the last quarter. It was a disappointing result however there were many positives to be taken away in preparation for next week’s twilight game against Hawthorn. A special mention to Ivanhoe for their hospitality and post-match catering.
