The Tonners’ Reserves played solidly for most of their game against De La Salle yesterday, and it was disappointing to watch them fall away in the final term, after we held an 8-point lead at the final change of a low-scoring match.
A couple of goals from the previously unsighted Joey Dikranian in the third term, boosted our hopes that had largely been built on the excellent efforts of Marty Ho, Sam Murray and Elliot Harris. Charlie Hicks worked hard and both Jack Cowling and Matt Speirs were involved enough to keep our noses in front in the third quarter.
However, the home side booted three goals in the final term and we couldn’t muster an answer. The side’s improvement will earn them a win soon. Young Sam Larkworthy showed some polish, Harrison Vulcan competed all day against a taller opponent, and veteran, Tom Gunning, always gives his best efforts.
