The first game of the 2019 season was played away against last year’s runners up Old Scotch. After a solid preseason and with the addition of several new players, we knew that we were in for a tough game. Unfortunately, we lost Emma Stafford before the game in the warm ups with an ankle injury which unbalanced our line-up. Old Scotch got off to a good start and we were under pressure early on in the game. After a solid 3rd quarter we entered the last break only 19 points adrift however we were unable to maintain our momentum and Old Scotch piled on some late goals in the last quarter. There were a number of positives to be taken from the game especially the performance of our new players and the dramatic improvement of Teagan King who starred in defence.
