OLD BRIGHTON: 8.15-63
OLD TRINITY: 4.5-29
Heading out to Old Trinity has its issues, especially when players don’t listen to travel advice and still take Punt Road. To add to that the game before us ran 20 minutes late and we had no change room access. The good thing was we got to watch the Roscoes record their first win of the season on the opposing oval.
This was a classic cliche 8-point game. We were lucky to beat them in round 1 but today a really good effort in the second half saw us make a statement beating them by 40 points. Trinity threw everything at us for a half with the boys really being put under the pump, we knew exactly how they would play and we defended bravely. After half time and talking to each line about where we can improve, a few positional changes and asking for some composure with the football, we turned it on in the third quarter kicking 4 goals 5 and keeping them scoreless. We then locked it down in the last going into a slight breeze and our kicking at goal woes continue kicking 1 goal 5 and 15 points for the game.
We are starting to play the game style and understand the instructions for longer periods in games, now we are seeing the results of what happens when we put it together. I was really proud of how we responded and played with our highest tackle count and pressure acts for the season. We have a few more big games coming up that we need to win and settle ourselves in the top 2 before the holiday season kicks in.
