Round 7 U19s Match Report

OLD BRIGHTON:    13.8-86

OLD MENTONIANS:  7.9-51

In the first quarter they played 1-2 behind the ball, which we kept picking out going forward. We spoke a lot about how we wanted to play after last week and it took the leaders to stand up and some other players who took their opportunity to step up. Once they did we managed to keep a comfortable margin for most of the game.

Finn had leather poisoning, Bryce is continually winning the footy and making smart decisions. Hynes Burt Hicks and Burns kept winning the ball inside and allowing us first use. Tzimas played an encouraging game and players continually putting their heads over the ball and winning their own footy. This also lead to us having 3 players out early in the game with concussion.

Unfortunately, we lost Matt Harris for most of the year after being knocked out and breaking his collarbone as he was tackled. We picked up a few other knocks and ended up with only 15 on the field for most of the last quarter.

We go 5-2 and stay 3rd on the ladder two games clear in the 4. We take on the second team next week Old Trinity.
