ANOTHER BATTLE FOR THE ROSCOES
As their numbers battle to stay afloat and youngsters from the Under 19 group fill positions vacated by the injured and absent, the Roscoes confronted violent weather and stern opposition at Brindisi Street, determined to offer strong resistance.
They succeeded admirably, staying in the game in the first half and then managing to hit the front at the final break after Jack Rutter, twice, and Will Lewis, had managed to conjure goals when we took our second turn with the wind advantage. Cal Macleod had led the Roscoes’ efforts, along with solid work in defence from Ned Murray and Matt Freeman in particular. Veteran Tommy Gunning loved the conditions and produced the effort that has characterised his long career.
The Roscoes were unable to keep the Tigers out in the final term, conceding the match by four goals but losing nothing in terms of their effort and enthusiasm. Brodie Miller, Andrew Tsimas and Jackson Collins all played their first matches and contributed solidly
